NE1fm 102.5 Prepares for 3rd Birthday - 20/05/2010
The first full time community radio station for Newcastle & Gateshead is set to celebrate its 3rd year of broadcast on June 8th 2010. NE1fm 102.5 will be broadcasting live on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th June from Leazes Park as part of the Newcastle Green Festival.
The station, which currently has over 100 active volunteers and broadcasts 24/7 on 102.5fm across the North East and online at www.ne1fm.net, launched at 8am on June 8th 2007 and has worked with hundreds of members of the local community to date.
NE1fm 102.5 is owned and operated by Community Broadcast Initiative Tyneside Ltd, their aim is to encourage and/or facilitate the development, production and broadcast of community radio, which promotes community learning, cohesion, regeneration, celebration and empowerment.
